On October 21, 2023, the talk Simbiosis y Cosmotécnicas: from collective sentipensares to interspecies processes in artistic practices beyond the human took place at Spacio Cultural (Quito), featuring Cristina Balseca, Paulette Goyes (Baby Pollution), Marzia Matarese, and Rocío Soria Díaz.

Artistic work with other organisms allows us to create bonds that challenge the norms of what we consider familiar, kinship, affinity, and allyship, putting into tension the very idea of affection. As artists, we share practices and meeting points that lead us to work with other species and organisms, turning this process into a possibility for companionship and connection.

Thus, we ask ourselves: How are these bonds built, how are these relationships articulated, particularly when linked to concepts of labor/work?How are these relationships produced within a capitalist context, a system of material and symbolic capitalization, in relation to dynamics of power/interest?How is affection manifested?\nHow are complicity or alterity, reciprocity or exploitation, care or neglect understood?
